Booking terms and conditions

1. Definitions

“Booking” – An agreement by the Client (or their agent) to purchase travel services through SilkNomads.

“SilkNomads”, “we”, “us”, “our” – SilkNomads, a licensed British Columbia travel agency.

“SilkNomads”, “we”, “us”, “our” – SilkNomads, a licensed British Columbia travel agency.
-
“Client”, “you”, “your” – Any person named on the Booking.
-
“Travel Services” – Transportation, accommodation, tours, or activities sold by SilkNomads and provided by third-party suppliers.
-
“Supplier(s)” – Airlines, hotels, local tour operators, transport providers, or other third parties contracted to provide Travel Services.
2. Licensing & Consumer Protection
2.1 Travel Agency Licence
SilkNomads is licensed by Consumer Protection BC to operate as a travel agent.

2.2 Travel Assurance Fund (TAF)
As a licensed BC agency, SilkNomads contributes to the Travel Assurance Fund (TAF).
If you paid for Travel Services that were not provided, you may be eligible to submit a claim to TAF.
Claims generally must be filed within six months of the date that services were not received.
3. Bookings, Payments & Pricing
3.1 Deposits & Confirmation
A minimum 15% deposit is required at the time of Booking. Some trips may require a higher deposit based on Supplier terms.

Bookings made within 75 days of departure require full payment at time of booking.

After your deposit is received, we issue a Confirmation Invoice, at which point your contract with SilkNomads begins.

All tours are subject to availability. If your booking is not accepted, your deposit will be fully refunded.
3.2 Final Payment

The remaining balance is due 75 days before departure.
Failure to pay by this date may result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
3.3 Receipts
For each payment or refund, you will receive a receipt including:

Date

Client name and address.

Amount paid or refunded.

Outstanding balance.
-
Detailed description of Travel Services.
-
Itemized costs and refund conditions.
-
SilkNomads licence number.
3.4 Pricing, Currency & Adjustments

All prices are based on current Supplier rates, taxes, and exchange rates.

SilkNomads may adjust trip prices to reflect changes in fuel costs, taxes, or currency fluctuations.

If a price increases beyond [e.g., 8%], you may.

Accept the revised Booking.

Choose a comparable alternative.

Cancel and receive a full refund.
3.5 Exclusions (Not Included Unless Stated)

Passport and visa fees.

Travel insurance

Optional sightseeing

Personal expenses (meals not listed, drinks, laundry, room service, phone calls, etc.)

Tips and gratuities

Any government taxes or levies introduced after the Confirmation Invoice is issued
4. Changes & Cancellations
4.1 Client-Requested Amendments

Requests must be submitted in writing by the lead traveller.

Changes made within 28 days of departure may be treated as a cancellation.

Amendment fee: [e.g., $250 CAD per person], plus any Supplier fees.
4.2 Client Cancellation
4.3 Changes by SilkNomads
We may make minor changes (e.g., hotel substitutions, scheduling adjustments).
For significant changes, as determined by Silk Nomads, we will notify you promptly and offer:

A full refund
4.4 Cancellation by SilkNomads
We may cancel a trip due to force majeure, insufficient participant numbers, or non-payment.
If we cancel, you may select:

A transfer to another tour.

A comparable alternative

A full refund of all monies paid
5. Client Responsibilities & Assumption of Risk
5.1 Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for:

Providing accurate personal and passport information
-
Meeting all entry requirements for Uzbekistan and any transit countries
-
Obtaining required visas, vaccinations, and travel documents
-
Reviewing your Confirmation Invoice and reporting errors promptly
-
Disclosing medical or mobility conditions that may affect your travel
5.2 Health, Activities & Risk

Some itineraries involve physical activity or remote environments. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required by certain Suppliers.
5.3 Behaviour
If your behaviour endangers others or disrupts the tour, SilkNomads may terminate your participation without refund for unused services.
6. Liability
6.1 Agency Role
SilkNomads acts solely as an agent for Suppliers.
We are not responsible for Supplier acts, errors, or omissions except as required under BC law.
6.2 Limitation of Liability
SilkNomads’ liability is limited to the amount paid for the portion of Travel Services affected.
6.3 Force Majeure
We are not liable for events beyond our control, including:

Natural disasters

Political unrest
-
Epidemics/pandemics
-
Government actions
-
Airline or Supplier failures
Refunds in such cases depend on Supplier policies.
7. Complaints & Dispute Resolution
7.1 During Travel
Report any issues immediately to our local representative so they can be addressed promptly.
7.2 After Travel
Submit complaints in writing within 30 days of return.
We will respond within 28 days.
If unresolved, you may seek guidance from Consumer Protection BC.
8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
9. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a deposit or confirming a Booking, you acknowledge that:

Any exceptions must be confirmed in writing by both you and SilkNomads
