Day 1 – Tashkent: The Elegant Gateway to Central Asia

Welcome to Tashkent, a city where tradition, modernity, and timeless Silk Road elegance meet. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a local representative and transferred to your hotel. Early arrivals may wander through leafy boulevards, bustling bazaars, or marvel at the Art Deco beauty of the Tashkent Metro—each station a gallery of mosaics and marble.

This afternoon, explore Khast-i-Imam Square, an ensemble of 16th–19th century treasures, including the Moyie Mubarek Madrasa, home to one of the world’s oldest Qurans (7th c.). Continue to the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar and conclude with a private visit to the Museum of Applied Arts.

As evening falls, meet your fellow travellers for a warm welcome showcasing refined Uzbek cuisine.

Day 2 – Samarkand: Heart of an Empire

After breakfast, board the Afrosiyob high-speed train to Samarkand. Your introduction to the city begins at the Guri Emir Mausoleum (1404), the magnificent resting place of Tamerlane and his dynasty. Its azure dome and richly decorated interior set the tone for the city’s splendour—Samarkand is a masterpiece shaped by ambition, artistry, and empire.

Day 3 – Samarkand: The Jewel of the Silk Road

Today you explore the city’s most legendary sites. At the heart of Samarkand lies Registan Square (1415–1660), framed by three majestic madrasas—Ulugh Beg, Sher-Dor, and Tilla Kori, with its breathtaking golden mosque. Few squares in the world rival its harmony and majesty.

Continue to the monumental Bibi Khanym Mosque (1404), once among the largest in the Islamic world, then walk through Tashkent Street to the sacred necropolis of Shakhi-Zinda (14th–15th c.), a procession of turquoise-tiled mausoleums glowing like precious stones.

Day 4 – Samarkand: Astronomy, Artistry & Living Traditions

Begin at the Ulugh Beg Observatory (1420s), one of the ancient world’s great scientific achievements, where a colossal sextant once mapped the heavens.

Later, step into the Eternal City, a cultural and ethnographic complex filled with artisans, musicians, and craftsmen preserving centuries-old traditions. You may also choose to visit a traditional silk paper workshop or enjoy a curated wine tasting at the historic Khovrenko Winery—a delightful contrast to Samarkand’s scholarly past.

Day 5 – Samarkand to Bukhara: Between Eras

Enjoy a leisurely morning—stroll through the bazaar, visit the Afrosiab Museum with its rare 7th-century fresco, or pay respects at the Al Bukhari Mausoleum. In the afternoon, travel by train to Bukhara, a city preserved like an open-air museum.

Tonight, an optional dinner with a traditional performance awaits at the Nodir Devon Begi Madrasa.

Day 6 – Bukhara: A Living Caravan City

Bukhara reveals itself through its winding streets, caravanserais, and ancient monuments. Highlights include the Poi Kalyan Complex—Miri Arab Madrasa, the mosque, and the towering 11th-century minaret. Explore medieval trading domes, jewelers’ arcades, madrasas, and the evocative Magoki Attari Mosque, now home to a museum of tribal carpets.

Later, the serene Liabi Khaouz Ensemble and the former emir’s summer palace, Sitorai Mokhi Khossa, add a royal flourish to the day.

Day 7 – Bukhara → Khiva: The Desert Road

This morning, visit the Baha' al-Din Naqshband Complex and revisit the regal splendor of Sitorai Mokhi Khossa.

Then journey across the red sands of the Kyzyl-Kum Desert, where camel herds and sweeping horizons echo the ancient caravans that once crossed these lands. Arrive in Khiva in the evening.

Day 8 – Khiva: A City from “One Thousand and One Nights”

Step into Itchan-Kala, the walled inner city of Khiva, an architectural treasure that feels suspended in time. Visit the Kukhna Ark, the Kalta Minaret, the Madrasa of Muhammad Amin Khan, and the serene courtyards of the Mohammed Rakhim Madrasa.

The afternoon continues with the jewel-like Tash Khauli Palace, Allakuli Khan’s caravanserai, the Friday Mosque with its 218 wooden columns, and the elegant Islam Khodja minaret. End with the mystical Pakhlavon Makhmoud Mausoleum.

Day 9 – Khiva: Fortresses of the Ancient Steppe

Travel to the windswept plains of the Khorezm region to explore the remains of Ayaz Kala (4th c. BC), a fortress from the Zoroastrian era. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in a yurt, embracing the nomadic traditions of the steppe.

Continue with private visits to the desert citadels of Toprak Kala and Kizil Kala, guardians of a long-vanished kingdom.
